Ivan Nikolaevich Pavlov (1872–1951) was a Russian and Soviet printmaker and painter, honored as a People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1943. He played a crucial role in establishing tone engravings as a recognized form of printmaking, elevating the status of the engraver to that of an independent artist. He taught at various art institutions in Moscow and was a member of the AHRR and the Academy of Arts of the USSR. Pavlov's notable works include "Ostankino" (1909) and the series "Old Moscow" (1944-1947). He received the State Prize of the USSR in 1943 and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
