The catalog was compiled by Vera Nikolaevna Anikieva (1893-1942), an art historian and staff member of the Russian Museum. One of 1000 copies. A copy featuring a slightly worn cover with a small tear at the bottom of the spine. As of May 2024, OCLC identifies four institutional holdings of the catalog: the New York Public Library, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the University of Michigan, and the Getty Library.

Pyotr Petrovich Konchalovsky (1876–1956) was a prolific Russian and Soviet painter, celebrated for his association with the Knave of Diamonds group. Over his lifetime, he produced more than five thousand artworks, showcasing a distinct evolution in styles. Before World War I, Paul Cezanne's influence was evident in his paintings. As a distinguished member of Russia's avant-garde, he later achieved recognition as a Member of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Fine Arts and a People's Artist of the R.S.F.S.R. Konchalovsky's legacy is marked by his significant role in the development of Soviet realistic art.
