Petr Dmitrievich Pokazhevsky (1889-1968) was an illustrious Russian painter whose educational journey culminated at the prestigious St. Petersburg Higher Art Courses in 1909. His artistic base shifted to Moscow in 1922, where he significantly contributed to the Russian art scene and became a professor in 1937. A member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AHRR) from 1923, Pokazhevsky was renowned for his evocative genre paintings, portraits, and landscapes that vividly capture the essence of Soviet life. His portfolio includes notable works such as "Red Watch" (1923), "Anxiety" (1925), "Troopers" (1928), and "Baikal" (1955).
