The pamphlet's objective is to provide foreign readers with information about the Ukrainian resistance movement, particularly the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), and to shed light on the events in Ukraine resulting from severe political and national oppression in the region.

The Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) was a paramilitary and partisan organization of Ukrainian nationalists, established by the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) on October 14, 1942. Throughout World War II, it conducted guerrilla operations against the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, as well as the Polish Underground State and Communist Poland.
