A rare and culturally significant publication, featuring a collection of articles and essays. It delves into the history of the "Halychyna" division, later known as the First Ukrainian Division of the Ukrainian National Army. These writings, authored by members of the OUN and former soldiers of the division, along with various public and political figures, provide valuable firsthand accounts of their experiences during and after World War II.
The book sheds light on the training, battles, capture, and emigration journeys of the individuals who never ceased their struggle for independent Ukraine. Among the contributors are notable figures such as Lyubomyr Ortynskyi, Mykhailo Khronovyat, Ivan Hrynokh, and others. Their testimonies debunk long-standing myths and offer a more accurate portrayal of Ukrainians' involvement in World War II and their defense of their state.
Published in Munich after WWII, "Brody" stands as a bibliographic rarity today, exemplifying the historical and cultural significance of many diaspora publications.
