It is one of 1000 copies and includes a signature in pen on the free endpaper. As of December 2023, OCLC records indicate that there are only four institutional copies of this catalog. Ilya Yefimovich Repin (1844 – 1930) was a Russian painter of Ukrainian origin, acclaimed as one of the foremost artists of 19th-century Russia. His notable creations encompass iconic works like "Barge Haulers on the Volga" (1873), "Religious Procession in Kursk Province" (1880–1883), "Ivan the Terrible and His Son Ivan" (1885), and "Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks" (1880–1891). Additionally, he gained recognition for his revealing portraits, capturing the essence of prominent figures in Russian literature and the arts during his era. Among these luminaries were Mikhail Glinka, Modest Mussorgsky, Pavel Tretyakov, and, notably, Leo Tolstoy, with whom he maintained an enduring friendship.
