17.5 x 13.5 cm. 48 pages: illustrations. Text in Russian. One of 1500 copies. Featuring the previous owner's stamp on the title, this is a fair condition copy with a damaged spine and a rear wrapper that is trimmed and almost missing.
The release of this book coincided with an exhibition at the Russian Museum featuring Russian woodcuts created between 1917 and 1927. Within its pages, readers will find a historical essay that traces the evolution of woodcut technology and the contributions of Russian engravers both before and after the revolution. The book also features reproductions of works by prominent artists such as A. Ostroumova-Lebedeva, V. Favorsky, B. Kustodiev, D. Mitrokhin, I. Pavlov, and others. Notably, all the illustrations are original engravings printed from the author's own blocks.
