24.5 x 17.5 cm. 48 pages: illustrations. Text in Russian. A good copy with minor chipping at the corners.

A notable Soviet theater magazine that was published in Moscow between 1934 and 1936, under the editorship of F. I. Panferov. This monthly publication was produced by the publishing house of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks), known as the “Peasant Newspaper.”

During its run from January 1934 to May 1936, the magazine released a total of 49 issues, with 16 issues in 1934, 24 in 1935, and 9 in 1936. It also featured a supplement titled the Library of the magazine "Collective Farm Theater." This supplement was published in several series, including "Theatrical Repertoire," "Reader's Repertoire," "Theater Studies," "Musical Repertoire," "Musical Studies," and "Leisure and Entertainment."

"Collective Farm Theater" was the successor of the magazine “Amateur Art” (1932-1933), which in turn had replaced earlier publications like “Art for the Masses” (for the village) in 1931 and “Village Theater” from 1925 to 1931. This evolution of publications reflects the changing focus and development of Soviet theater and cultural expression during this period.
