The book "Almanac of the Palm Bazaar: Moscow Season 1913-1914" is a unique and rare publication, as described by the Russian writer Vladimir Lidin in his book "Druzia moi - knigi", 1966 (Eng: My friends - books,) "Initially, the content related to the Palm Bazaar was published in weekly issues under the title "Vestnik Palm Bazaar," but for the 1913-1914 season, it was compiled into this almanac format." According to Lidin, these publications are now extremely rare and unlikely to be found in any collector's library, primarily due to the ephemeral nature of their content. Despite this, he emphasizes the significant value of such materials in understanding historical periods. He suggests that these fleeting publications, including leaflets, posters, and similar ephemera, often provide insights into an era that are sometimes more revealing than even the most reliable, formal documents. This almanac would have captured the essence of the period and the cultural and social atmosphere of Moscow during that season, making it a valuable resource for understanding the historical context and everyday life of that time. Its rarity and the transient nature of its content make it a particularly intriguing piece of historical literature.
