Ivan Sozontovich Lukash was a Russian emigre, historical novelist, and journalist born in 1892. He was known to be a close friend of Vladimir Nabokov in the 1920s. Lukash wrote the anti-Bolshevik novel "Blizzard" in response to a competition announced in 1933 by the Academy of Public Education and Cooperation. The first edition of the novel was published in Paris in 1936. Lukash died in 1940.
