Krymov, Vladimir Pimenovich (1878-1968), Russian emigre writer. Before the revolution, Krymov was active mainly as an editor and journalist. He travelled to America and Far East, and wrote interesting travel notes. After the Revolution, he lived in London, Berlin and Paris.

At one time he edited newspaper Russkii Golos, supporting the position of Smena Vekh. Krymov published an illustrated magazine Stolitsa i Usadba [The Capital and the Mansion]. He also published a series of novels, the most significant of these being the trilogy Za Millionami [After Millions], 1933. Close to the picaresque genre, these novels give a panoramic and often colorful picture of Russian middle-class life from the viewpoint of a man of affairs.

Krymov's style is smooth and folksy, he has an ear for colloquial speech, and his satire is sometimes to the point. His novels, some of which went through several editions, make for entertaining reading but are hardly serious literature.
