A coherent group of four White movement portrait postcards depicting prominent commanders associated with the Volunteer Army and the anti-Bolshevik forces of South Russia during the Russian Civil War: Vladimir Zenonovich Mai-Maevsky (1867–1920), Sergei Leonidovich Markov (1878–1918), Mikhail Vasilyevich Alekseev (1857–1918), and Alexei Maksimovich Kaledin (1861–1918). Printed in a uniform format and evidently issued as part of the same series, the cards present the commanders in military uniform, surrounded by laurel, flags, weapons, and other martial and commemorative devices.
