Conceived by the pedagogue Nikolai Vladimirovich Chekhov (1865–1947) together with M. F. Robinson and Kh. G. Khakimov, the work presents a vocabulary curriculum organized into thematic visual tables. Hundreds of line drawings and color plates illustrate everyday objects, animals, toys, sports equipment, household items, classroom settings, and Young Pioneer activities. Grammatical lessons (such as noun declensions) are integrated with Soviet imagery, including red banners, medals, and Pioneer parades.
