The German-language edition of Die Moskauer Sphinx, an early émigré political-historical study by Ukrainian writer and political thinker Vasyl Kosarenko-Kosarevytch. The work examines the historical formation of Muscovite political culture and the ideological myths surrounding Russia’s role in Eastern Europe. Drawing on historical sources and comparative analysis, the author argues that the Muscovite state evolved through a complex synthesis of steppe-imperial traditions and autocratic political structures that later shaped Russian imperial ideology. Published by the small émigré press Eremiten-Presse in 1955, this edition predates the expanded Ukrainian version issued in New York in 1957.
