A Lithuanian-language fairy-tale play in three acts, written for stage performance in Displaced Persons camps in postwar Germany and illustrated throughout by J. Tricys with color and black-and-white drawings in folk-art style.

Published under the pseudonym Bale Voveraite by the Lithuanian émigré writer and educator Petronele Orintaite (1905–1999), who was active in the cultural life of the Lithuanian diaspora in the 1940s–1950s. This work reflects the efforts of Lithuanian refugees to preserve national identity and language through children’s literature and theater in exile. The publication was issued by the Lietuviu Skautu Sajungos Brolijos Vadija (Lithuanian Scout Association Brotherhood Headquarters) in Detmold, a major Lithuanian DP center in the British Zone of occupied Germany.
