A substantial collection of humorous and satirical prose by the celebrated Ukrainian émigré writer and poet Hanna Cherin.
Born in Kyiv in 1924, Hanna Cherin became a prominent literary figure in Ukrainian émigré circles after World War II. Her early experiences as a Displaced Person in Germany shaped her worldview and literary voice. After settling in Chicago, she worked at the University of Chicago Library and obtained degrees in linguistics and library science. Over the decades, Cherin published more than 26 books—ranging from poetry and essays to travel writing and humor—and became a beloved contributor to émigré periodicals in North America.
