Brussels: Zhizn' s Bogom, 1950. Item #1485

32 pages: illustrations; 21 cm. Gift inscription on the inner front cover dated 6/19 December 1969, addressed to a godchild named Nikolai on the occasion of his name day. A good copy with some staining to lower edge of front wrapper, light foxing to covers. Spine slightly worn; internally clean and unmarked. Structurally sound.

A richly documented account of the life and cult of Saint Nicholas of Myra—a key figure in Eastern Christian hagiography. More than a devotional biography, the work reflects Gavrilov's methodical engagement with Byzantine sources, including the 6th-century vitae and the 9th-century compilation by Patriarch Methodius of Constantinople.

Price: $40.00
