Book 1: Stalinschina kak dukhovnyi fenomen, (1971); Book 2: Sovetskoe obshchestvo, (1972).
Rarely found complete, this comprehensive émigré study of Soviet ideology and spiritual life under and after Stalin, written by philosopher and NTS member Roman Redlikh (1911–2005). Originally circulated as mimeographed “rotator notebooks” in the late 1940s and early 1950s, these essays form a systematic analysis of Soviet totalitarianism from a socio-philosophical perspective. Book 1 critically examines Stalinism as a form of ideological pseudo-religion, while Book 2 reflects on post-Stalinist developments and the potential trajectory of the USSR, concluding with the prescient statement: “The country stands on the threshold of great change.” Notably, the second volume is a heavily revised and expanded version of Redlikh’s earlier Ocherki bolshevizmovedeniia (1956), updated to include the author’s reassessment of Soviet life in the decades following Stalin’s death.
