A rare and ideologically charged émigré publication by Evgenii Ivanovich Divnich (1907–1966), one of the foundational figures of the Natsional’no-Trudovoi Soiuz rossiiskikh solidarnistov (NTS), written shortly before his death and published posthumously. This book, whose very title NTS, nam pora obʺiasnitʹsia! suggests a reckoning or an appeal, serves as a detailed insider’s critique and account of the ideological developments and organizational dynamics of the NTS. It reflects on both the early roots of the movement and its evolving political mission, particularly in light of the Cold War and the fate of Soviet dissidents.
Divnich had a distinguished life as a Russian political émigré, first evacuated from Crimea with the White Army in 1920, later rising through the émigré institutional structures in Yugoslavia, where he headed the local NTS chapter. In 1944, following the Soviet occupation of Belgrade, Divnich was arrested by SMERSH and sentenced to 25 years in labor camps after being transported to Moscow—a fate that befell many NTS affiliates.
This volume is part memoir, part ideological pamphlet, and part plea—a call for clarity in the NTS's direction and strategy. It serves as a valuable primary source for historians of Russian émigré politics, anti-communist activism, and the internal fractures within dissident movements abroad.
