San Francisco: Globus Publishers, 1981. Item #1377

43 pages. Publisher's softcover. First edition.

An émigré publication by Igumen Gennady (Eugene Alexandrovich Eykalovich, 1914–2008), a Russian Orthodox clergyman and former Soviet political prisoner. From 1940 to 1942, Igumen Gennady was imprisoned in a Soviet concentration camp in Siberia. Upon his release, he joined the 2nd Polish Corps of the 8th Allied Army in Italy, serving from 1942 to 1945. After the war, he was part of the Polish Resettlement Corps in England (1946–1948), a unit designed to assist Polish soldiers who refused to return to communist Poland in transitioning to life in the West. His later years were dedicated to religious service and theological writings within the Russian Orthodox émigré. In this work, he examines the issue of anti-Semitism from a religious and ethical perspective, offering a nuanced discussion shaped by his own life experiences.
