This scarce large-format edition of Skazka ob Ivane-tsareviche, zhar-ptitse i serom volke was published in 1946 by Posev, a Russian émigré press active in the Displaced Persons (DP) camps of post-war Germany. Issued in a limited print run for distribution among Russian refugees, it exemplifies the perseverance of the DP community, which, despite severe material shortages and military censorship, remained committed to preserving its cultural traditions. Illustrated in color by the Russian artist Nikolay Niko and printed on notably fine paper, this edition stands apart from many other DP publications.
