An album-style folder with a tied enclosure, containing 41 phototype plates featuring portraits of 48 distinguished hunting dogs, primarily English Pointers and Setters. The album measures 35 x 26 cm. The folder is in excellent condition, showing minimal edge wear, while the plates are in near-mint condition with only minor corner dings.

This exquisite album, originally published in 1895 by Ivan Osipovich (Jean-Baptiste) Avanzo (1853–1909), is dedicated to the Moscow Hunting Society, one of the oldest and most prestigious hunting associations in Russia. Avanzo, a prominent art dealer with renowned shops in St. Petersburg and Moscow (notably on Kuznetsky Most at the corner of Petrovka), was also a photography dealer and a member of the Russian Photographic Society starting in 1904. As a longstanding member of the Moscow Hunting Society, he created this album to celebrate Russian firearm hunting traditions.

This reissued edition, based on the original from the private collection of Oleg Berezin, has been handcrafted in a highly limited run, showcasing Avanzo's dedication to both artistry and the hunting heritage of Russia.
