A German translation of Sholem Aleichem's renowned Tevye the Milkman, a cornerstone of Yiddish literature. This edition features illustrations by Anatoli Lvovich Kaplan, the acclaimed Soviet-era Russian painter, sculptor, and printmaker. The work served as the inspiration for the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof (titled Anatevka in German) and its iconic film adaptation.

Solomon Naumovich Rabinovich, widely known by his pen name Sholem Aleichem, was a prominent Yiddish author and playwright who spent much of his life in the Russian Empire and later in the United States.
