Measuring 24 x 18.5 cm with [12] pages of illustrations, this Ukrainian-language children's book is in very good condition, showing only minor wear along the edges. A library sticker is affixed to the top left corner of the front cover, and the pages are clean with some minor age-toning. The stamp from St. John the Baptist Church in Ottawa, Canada, appears on the title page and a few internal pages.

Originally published in a German camp for Ukrainian Displaced Persons in 1948 and later in Paris in 1954, this 1955 British edition features charming illustrations by Valeriia Hutnyk, which beautifully complement the whimsical tale of a little bug named Shcherbachok. The poem, rich in themes of curiosity and adventure, makes for a delightful read for children.

As of August 2024, OCLC records indicate that only three other copies of this edition are held in libraries: at the Library of Stamford, the University of Toronto, and the University of Minnesota.
