Clement Trofimenko was born in 1898 in the village of Pekarshchyna, located in the Volyn region of Ukraine. He began painting at the age of 45 during the Second World War after the loss of his wife. His interest in art evolved from a personal hobby to a professional pursuit. While living in Lviv, Trofimenko became involved with the local art community, which helped him develop his distinctive style.
After immigrating to the United States and settling in Philadelphia, Trofimenko continued to refine his painting techniques. His work includes portraits, scenes, seascapes, still-life compositions, trees, and flowers. Trofimenko's art is recognized for its simplicity of form, bold brushstrokes, and a rich variety of colors, earning him critical acclaim and recognition among international artists.
Trofimenko exhibited his works in Europe, the United States, and Canada, where they were featured in galleries and private collections. His work has been recognized in prominent art references such as the "Leipziger Seemanns-Lexikon" of twentieth-century artists. Even in his later years, Trofimenko remained active and inspired, constantly seeking new ways to express his artistic vision.
