This group comprises twenty-one volumes (1955-1977) of "Kalendar Al'manakh Mitla," the annual almanac of the Ukrainian humor and satire magazine "La Escoba," edited by Julian Serediak and cover design by Boris Kriukov. Published in Buenos Aires by Vydavnytstvo Iuliiana Serediaka, these octavo volumes (20 × 14 cm), each approximately 128 pages, are bound in original pictorial wrappers and feature numerous caricatures and illustrations. Notable contributors, often using pseudonyms, included A. Halan, Yurii Tys (Iu. Krokhmaliuk), M. Ponedilok, I. Manylo, Panko Nezabutko, and H. Cherin. The magazine's rich illustrations were created by artists O. Klymko, V. Kaplun, and V. Tsymbal. From 1950 onwards, the popular "Selepko Lavochka" section, illustrated by O. Klymko, featured the hero of Yu. Krokhmaliuk’s future book about a soldier from the "Halychyna" division. This scarce series, reflecting a staunchly anti-Communist stance, also offers light-hearted prose, poetry, and non-political satire, along with various advertisements for Ukrainian businesses in South America. The condition varies, with most volumes being in very good condition and a few fair copies in the group, including a special review copy. The set spans 1955-1977, missing 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1974, and 1976. As of May 2024, OCLC indicates scattered holdings in North American institutions.
