Irina Evgenyevna Saburova (1907–1979) was a notable Russian writer, poet, translator, and editor. Born in Riga, Latvia, she started her literary career early, publishing her first story at sixteen. She edited the journal “For You” from 1933 to 1940 and contributed to various Soviet and international publications. During World War II, Saburova moved to Berlin and later Munich, where she worked for Radio Station Liberty and continued her writing. Renowned for her fairy-tale novellas, she also wrote historical and anti-utopian novels and gave lectures and recitals internationally.
