A humorous collection of a Ukrainian soldier's diary entries spanning 1943-1945. The main character is Selepko Lawoczka, who serves in the 14th SS-Volunteer Division "Galicia" (a WWII German military formation made up predominantly of military volunteers with a Ukrainian ethnic background from the area of Galicia, later also with some Slovaks and Czech). The style of writing resembles the work The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik by Yaroslav Hasek.

Iurii Tys was a Ukrainian writer, journalist, publisher, military historian. He was a co-founder of the Union of Ukrainian Scientists, Artists, and Writers in Buenos Aires. Member of the Union of Ukrainian Engineers in Argentina. He was also a chairman of the Institute of Ukrainian Culture and since 1962 editor of its magazine Terem. He was also the editor-in-chief of Ukrania Libre magazine and co-editor of Vesti Kombatanta.

Oleksandr Klymko was a Ukrainian architect, graphic designer, and artist. He worked as a set designer for the National Theater. M. de Cervantes in Buenos Aires collaborated with the Iulian Serediak Publishing House and the humorous magazine Mitla. Klymko painted the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Berisso, Argentina. In the United States, he was accepted into the American Union of Theater, Film, and Television Artists, United Stage Artists.
