[Soviet Union]: ca. 1970s-1980s. various illustrators. Original illustrated wrappers. Good. Item #196

A group of five children's books inscribed and signed by the authors or illustrators. The group includes:

Pushkin, A. S., Losin, V. (illustrator). Pesn o veshchem Olege. Moscow: Izd. "Malysh", 1978. 8 pages: illustrations; 28 cm. Inscribed and signed by the illustrator [V. Losin] to title; some wear to wrappers; overall good. Summary: The wise Prince Oleg tries to foil the prophecy that his faithful war horse will cause his death by retiring the horse and riding another into battle, but to no avail.

Nekrasov, N. A., Losin, V. (illustrator). General Toptygin. Moscow: Izd. "Malysh", 1979. 17 pages: illustrations; 28 cm. Inscribed and signed by the illustrator [V. Losin] to title; some wear to wrappers; about copy. The poem "General Toptygin" was written by the poet in the period from 1867 to 1873. It was based on a folk anecdote about how the superintendent took the bear who was riding in a sleigh as an important military commander and was so afraid of him that he did not even immediately see that he was dealing with a beast, and not a man. However, this folk comedy story under the pen of the poet was filled with accusatory pathos, however, skillfully hidden behind a common speech and a funny plot.
